Ms. Sandra Attersley graduated from the Canadian Coast Guard College in 1981, the Marine Institute in 1986, and Dalhousie Law School in 1996. Ms. Attersley's professional career has encompassed many aspects of the marine industry including ship operations with the Canadian Coast Guard, ship design and shipbuilding, and maritime law. She has also lectured on maritime transportation administration and policy in the Masters of Marine Management program at Dalhousie University. As a marine lawyer, her practice included assessment of marine casualties on behalf of insurance companies and ship owners to determine causation and liability. Ms. Attersley serves on the Board of Directors of the Mission to Seafarers, Halifax, and Techsploration Inc. She is a member of the Canadian Maritime Law Association and the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering.
